Steady the mind.
Open the heart.

Yoga is so much more than movement. It's a practice of presence – learning to breathe through difficulty, find steadiness in chaos, and carry that stillness into everyday life.

Find your practice

Yoga that meets you
where you are.

I'm Gabija (GAH-bih-yah) – a yoga teacher based in Copenhagen, teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, power flow, hot yoga, pranayama, and meditation. With 10 years of personal practice and a deep commitment to the craft, I bring classes that are grounding and thoughtfully structured – open to all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners.

I believe a yoga class should feel like a safe space – free from competition and performance. Just you, your breath, and a practice that supports your whole self – body, mind, and heart.

I teach in Copenhagen, at retreats abroad, and online – so wherever you are, there may be a way to practice together.

It started as healing.
It became a calling.

I first stepped on a mat ten years ago. It was physical back then – something to do between cities, between jobs, between versions of myself. Yoga came and went with me. I didn't think much of it.

Then came a period of intense pressure and self-questioning – the kind that makes you look for something solid to hold onto. I came back to the mat and found exactly that. And for the first time, I felt what yoga can actually do. Not just stretch you or strengthen you, but steady you. Bring you back to yourself. That experience changed everything.

From Copenhagen to Nepal

I grew up in Lithuania and spent my whole adult life living abroad, eventually finding my home in Copenhagen in 2019. A couple of years ago, I stepped away from my 9-to-5 to travel and figure out what came next. That search led me to Nepal, where I completed a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training with a focus on Hatha, Ashtanga, pranayama, and meditation. What I thought would be a personal healing tool turned into a passion I didn't know I carried.

Dance taught me everything yoga confirmed

Before yoga, there was dance. Nearly 20 years of it – salsa, contemporary, ballroom, folk. Performing, occasionally teaching, always moving. That background lives in how I show up in a room: with presence, with an ear for music, with a feel for how bodies move and how people learn.

How I teach

My classes draw from traditional yoga, yoga philosophy, and personal experience. Grounding, yet energizing. Structured enough to feel safe, open enough to feel alive.

Breath is at the center of everything. I teach movement as an invitation to go inward – to find release through the exhale, and to arrive at that quiet, meditative state that makes yoga so much more than a physical practice. Because it is. Yoga is concentration, meditation, energy.

I care deeply about alignment and always teach with different bodies and limitations in mind – having navigated my own back and knee challenges, it feels natural to offer variations that actually work.

Students tell me they feel safe in my classes. That there's a held quality to the space that lets them go deeper. That means everything to me. I see myself as a student and practitioner first, a teacher second.

A little more about me

When I'm not on the mat, you'll find me somewhere in nature, deep in a yoga book, or sharing a slow evening with good people. I have a soft spot for travel, for rituals, and for Netflix shows I definitely didn't mean to finish in one sitting.
